About me

I love hearing people’s stories and enjoy helping my clients move from a “stuck” place to one of insight and growth. I fundamentally believe that each individual has the internal wisdom to successfully navigate difficult situations or experiences. I feel that my role in this process is to help my clients see patterns, uncover unmet needs, and develop functional coping skills to help manage anxiety, depression, or maladaptive behaviors. My experience includes working with both individuals and families at colleges, at a community nonprofit, and at a residential woman’s addiction facility. I work from an attachment lens offering a nonjudgmental, compassionate, safe space for therapeutic work.

I have spent my life working as an educator, businesswoman, and counselor. I have spoken at numerous academic conferences, published articles in several educational journals, and co-authored a Woman’s Resilience Group curriculum. I am a mother of five and dog mom to my new puppy Remy who is currently working on his therapy dog certification. When not working with individual clients, families, or presenting Family Workshops I love to hike, spend time with my family,  cook and eat Thai food, and travel to interesting places.

My Approach

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process which creates a therapeutic alliance between a client and their therapist. My intention is to create a safe and nurturing space where you feel seen and heard. I think that each client should be an active participant in their own recovery and growth. To support this I offer a person centered approach where the focus is on you and your needs.

I have certifications in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In sessions I will pull from a variety of modalities to best serve you utilizing empathetic awareness to work together towards your goals. I believe that each person is gifted with the knowledge and courage to overcome adversity, shame, and fear. I will work with my clients to help them heal, grow, and face life’s challenges with intention and confidence.

Together, I can help you explore your patterns and beliefs to work toward a more grounded and meaningful life that is fulfilling and supportive of your most authentic self.

GO CONFIDENTLY IN THE DIRECTION OF YOUR DREAMS! LIVE THE LIFE YOU'VE IMAGINED."
